Over the past three and a half years, we’ve hosted more than a thousand events and welcomed tens of thousands of you - dancers, creators and connectors, through our doors.

It’s been a wild ride, one built to bring arts, culture and good times to Barking & Dagenham, a borough painfully short on cultural spaces, but home to a community who really know how to bring it on the floor. Trust.

As unforgettable as it’s been, it’s also been incredibly tough. The continued rise in business rates, operational costs and inflation have created a landscape where culture and community can’t compete. Across the UK, independent venues and night time spaces are closing at an alarming rate. Despite soldiering on with swelling hearts and gritted teeth…you got us in the end.  :(

We’ll close our doors one final time at the end of this month. We’ve loved every minute and are endlessly grateful to everyone who’s supported us - our team (special shout out to Ayoba and Rob!), promoters, artists and every single person who danced, created and celebrated here with us.

Come through to see us for one last Strawberry Slap (IYKYK) this month for our last few events which are on the website. You’ll still find @makeitlondon doing our thing, providing accessible workspace for the creative industries - we’re not going anywhere.
